Virginia Thornock Swett born May 6, 1948, died October 8, 2023, at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 6, 1948, in Monpelier Idaho to Williard and Shirley Ruth Adams Thornock. She had one older sister Shirley and 1 younger brother Charles and younger sister Glenna; all grew up in Bloomington Idaho. She helped her dad on the farm and attended Bloomington Elementary, Paris Elementary and graduated from Fielding high in 1966. During that time, she enjoyed spending time with family, girls camp with the young women, softball, school track and field where she did shot-put, and she was in the choir. After high school she went to beautician school, there she met Otto Swett through mutual friends they later married. They went to Germany where he was stationed in the US Airforce. While in Germany they had 2 daughters Paula Jean and Karma Swett. They returned to the states in 1974 where dad was stationed in Oklahoma City for a short time. Dad left the Airforce and they returned to Idaho and Wyoming and finally settled in Bloomington where they later divorced. Mom worked as a housekeeper at the Ver-day Motel, Ideal Beach, she also worked at the helmet factory where she met lasting friendships, and as housekeeping at the Bear Lake Hospital and skilled Nursing, she worked until her health stopped her at the young age of 52. Mom enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and Dutch oven cooking. She always had cookies for her nieces and nephews to dunk in milk.
Mom was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was holding a temple recommend when she died. She served many callings and held them proudly.
Virgina is proceeded in death by her daughter Karma, her parents Willard and Shirley Ruth, grandparents and many cousins all who she loved dearly.
Virginia was survived by her Daughter Paula Swett, Grandson her joy Trenten Swett, her older Sister Shirley (Rulon) Hanson her brother Charles (Marcia) Thornock, and youngest sister Glenna (Kevin) Walker, many nieces and nephews and cousins who she all loved dearly.
