Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Melva Iris Bunn returned to our loving Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
Melva was born August 23, 1956 to Lyn and Vilate Saulls in Blackfoot, Idaho. She grew up with 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Lynn L., Ethel, Anglo and Melody. She attended school in Firth, Idaho where she Graduated from Firth High School in 1974.
On February 25, 1977, she married Harold Tracy Bunn. They made their home in Montpelier, Idaho where they became proud parents of their 4 daughters, Lisa Hansen, Lori Bunn, Cori Bunn, Katie Alleman. They were later sealed for time and eternity on February 25, 2005 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple.
Melva worked 27 years as the Bear Lake School District Secretary and Board Clerk for many years. She was able to retire in 2019. She loved to serve the Lord and held many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her favorite was working in the Primary.
Her many talents and hobbies consisted of crocheting all her granddaughters blessing dresses and booties as well as making their baptism dresses, making and tying quilts for everyone in her family, she was an avid supporter and cheerleader for her daughters and grand children for all their activities, she loved to play the piano at all occasions and making sure everyone was upbeat and at tempo! During her last few years she grew a deep love and interest in family history.
She is survived by her children: Lisa (Eric) Hansen, Lori Bunn, Cori Bunn, and Katie (Doug) Alleman; 19 grand children, 2 great-grand children; siblings Lyn L. (Marie) Saulls, Ethel (Deon) Anderson, Anglo Saulls, and Melody (Shane) Rigby.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Harold Tracy Bunn and parents Lyn and Vilate Saulls.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. with a viewing prior to the services from 10:00 am to 11:45 am. There will also be a viewing the night before on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary. Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
