Kris Carney Obituary

Kris Anne Carney passed away September 18, 2024 at her home in Fish Haven, Idaho.

Kris was born to Ross and Shirley Barraclough on December 9, 1948 in Tooele, UT where she graduated from Tooele High in 1967. She is survived by two brothers, Kim of Salt Lake, UT and Kerry of Toole, UT and a sister Karla Hunter of Taylorsville, UT.

Kris is survived by her husband Brent, two daughters Joanna Piette of Las Vegas, NV and Sarah Clark of Mountlake Terrace, WA; two stepsons Trent and Gena Carney, Adam Carney and Kristine both families live in Bloomington, IN. She is the proud grandmother of seven: two granddaughters and five grandsons, and two great granddaughters.

She worked in the Salt Lake area in the electrical sales field until her retirement in 2014 making many close friends that were special to her.  She and Brent were married in 1987.

She and Brent purchased an old farm house and broken down barn on 12 ½ acres in Fish Haven, ID in 1990 and worked on restoring and adding to it over the next 34 years with the help many of the sons’ friends who became the Bear Lake Big Boys and their wives and children who are part of the extended family. Special mention to Doug and Laura Frederickson, Dennis and Stacy Hansen, Korey Kinder (deceased), and Mike Dolan.

There will be no formal celebration of life but as people have time to come to our homes at the farm or Joanna’s home to visit over the year so we can reminisce, better one on one time. She has left a hole in all of the hearts of those who love her. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kent, and special friend (sister) Lori Jo Lynch.
