Obituary

June Oakey Langford of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on May 16, 2023, at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center.  She was 103 years, 11 months and 16 days old.

June was born in Montpelier, Idaho, to James and Theola Stewart Oakey.  She grew up in Dingle, Idaho, and graduated from high school in Montpelier in 1937.  She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah, graduating in 1938.  She worked as a secretary-stenographer for different agencies and banks.  She married Ralph L. Langford in 1948.  She was very active in different auxiliaries in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She and her husband spent 18 months in the Johannesburg, South Africa Mission, and served many years in the Logan, Utah, Temple.

June is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Dayton (Richard) of Casper, daughter-in-law, Yvonne Langford (James), 12 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, a niece, and sister-in-law.  She was preceded in death by her husband, son (James), her parents and her brother.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Schwab-Matthews Funeral Home in Montpelier, Idaho.  Burial will follow at the Montpelier City Cemtery
