Obituary

Joan Pugmire Eborn, age 84, of Paris, Idaho passed away surrounded by family, Tuesday May 9, 2023. She was born May 22, 1938 in St. Charles, Idaho, the daughter of the late Preston and Alta Pugmire.

In her free time Joan enjoyed finding ways to be with her children and grandchildren at any given opportunity. She lived a life of service to others and stands as a pillar of fairness among her family and friends.

Joan graduated from Cokeville High School in May of 1956. She met her husband, Max, in the summer of 1955 and they were married in the Logan Temple April 20, 1956. A few years later they bought a home in Paris where they have lived throughput their marriage. She and Max were blessed with 3 children Michelle Joan Humpherys, Corin Max Eborn, and Jamie Lynne Clarke. Joan has 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and still counting. She has two siblings Kenneth Pugmire (deceased) and Evelyn Pugmire Walker.

Joan worked several jobs after Max was drafted into the army and eventually got a job working for Bear Lake County in the clerk’s office. Sometime afterwards, she was appointed as county clerk. She worked in that position for 35 plus years and was very relieved that nobody ran against her during her years as the county clerk. Following her retirement, she and Max served a mission in the Czech Republic for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They also served in the Logan Temple for many years. She was a very devoted member of the church and served in many callings.

Joan is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Max Eborn, their children, Michelle, Corin, and Jamie, 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and her sister, Evelyn Walker.
