Vera Belle Root

Vera Belle Root passed away on April 30, 2011 at home with her loving husband, two daughters and grandson by her side.

Vera was born in Bowie Texas on Oct. 29, 1933. She was the sixth of seven children.

She married Eugene A. Root on May 3, 1952 and had three children, Davie, Denise, and Cheryl. David preceded her in death in 1974.

Vera was raised in California and loved to play golf, tennis, baseball, and volleyball. She loved to crochet, read, write poetry, and listen to music, dance, and sing. She especially loved horseback riding, hiking and camping with her family in Wyoming.

Vera and Gene moved to Wyoming in 1982 to be near their only grandson. Vera was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

Vera is survived by her husband, Gene, of 59 years; children Denis Cheever and Cheryl Root; grandson Zebulon Long; and sisters Evelyn Wood, Betty Green, Syble Kimball and Wanda McNutt.
