Terry Reed
Hymas
May 18, 1942
It is with great sadness and regret to announce the passing of Terry Reed Hymas. Terry was born on May 18, 1942 in Sharon Idaho to Reed Smoot and Katherine Mime Lynch Hymas. He was born in a little log cabin on the Lone Pine Ranch where he spent his entire life.
Terry attended Paris Elementary and Feilding High Schools where he was active and lettered in boxing, wrestling, basketball, and baseball. After schooling Terry worked for Central Farmers for a couple of years. At this time he married Irene Crane and to this union was a daughter, Tamara Kay. They were later divorced.
Over the next few years Terry worked at El Paso, Covey Dayton Ranch, the Fish Hatchery, and M.K. plant. However his true love was helping his father back on the ranch.
On October 13, 1973 Terry married Judy Ann Passey in Liberty, Idaho. Judy brought to this marriage a daughter, Lori Ann Dirham, and a son, Michael Allen Dirham. To this union a daughter, Danielle, and son David Wayne were born. Terry and Judy were married for time and eternity on June 5, 1980 in the Logan temple. Terry continued running the Lone Pine Ranch and training cutting horses. He was a true cowboy and was known as somewhat of a horse whisperer.
Terry was well known and well respected in the horse cutting world. This career allowed him to travel to many parts of the country competing in many different shows. In 1979 Terry traveled to Fort Worth Texas to compete in the NCHA Futurity. He was able to achieve top 40 out of 800 in this competition with a horse he owned named Knobby West.
Terry was very active in the LDS church. He thoroughly enjoyed his callings as teacher and president of the Sunday School. Terry especially enjoyed being called to serve a mission at the Logan Temple for four and a half years. After he was released from this calling, he and Judy served a service mission at the Bear Lake memorial, Bear Lake Manor, and Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility.
Terry was called home to his Father in Heaven December 18, 2014. Although he will be dearly missed by his friends and family here, Heaven is welcoming him with open arms
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ann Hymas, his children, Tamara (Scott) Wilcox, Lori (Brady) Anthony, Michael (Heather) Dirham, Danielle (Bart Jensen), and David Hymas (Tara Sparks), his grandchildren, Shadow, Sable Lewis, Tierra (Joey) Babcock, Randie, Cristina, Kylie, Braxton, Mason Dirham, Nicholas VanDarlin, and Dalton Hymas, and Great Grandchildren Stetson Troy and Chazlee Jorgenson, brother Keith (Doris) Hymas, sister Beverly (Richard) Baroko, sister in-law Deanna Hymas, and many nieces and nephews.
