Teresa Dawn
(Hymas) Widmer
October 16, 1961 – March 26, 2024
Teresa Dawn Widmer, 62, passed away peacefully at her home on March 26, 2024 after a long, courageous battle with her health.
Teresa was born to Doneal B. Hymas and Sherrill P. Hymas on October 16, 1961. She was the youngest of their five girls. She grew up in Montpelier and attended school in the Bear Lake Valley. She later received an online certificate in accounting. She married Kevin Cook of Montpelier, and they had two boys, Brandon and Dawson. They divorced and Teresa later married Don (Woody) Widmer on December 3, 1992. They made their home in Geneva, Idaho where they raised their two boys Damon and Keean.
Teresa was loved by her family and many friends. She always made us laugh and smile. She was the life of the party at gatherings. She dearly loved her husband of 31 years, 'Woody'. She adored her four boys and four grandchildren. She was an amazing inspiration to all of us and a magnificent example of courage and determination. Despite her paralysis, she insisted on being independent. She will be sorely missed.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Doneal Brown Hymas and Sherrill (Sherry) Pugmire Hymas, brothers-in-law William Randall (Randy) Gregersen, Lewis (Louie) Pope, and Ray L Widmer.
Teresa is survived by her husband Don (Woody) Widmer, her sons, Brandon K. Cook (Shannon), Dawson D. Cook, (Gwen), Damon R. Widmer, and Keean L. Widmer. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Carson, Mason, Liam, and Zoey; four sisters, Sheryl Jeanne (Randy) Gregersen, Jill Rae (Eugene) Wright, Christine Ann (Lewis) Pope, Joy Linn (Neal) Parkin.
A memorial service for Teresa will be held at the Geneva Cemetery July 24th at 12:00p.m. There will be a luncheon for friends and family following the service at the Geneva Church Pavillion.
