Ted Carl Smith

Ted Carl Smith, 56, passed away May 9th, 2017 in Montpelier, Idaho. Ted was born in Montpelier on April 7th, 1961, to Howard and Kathleen Smith of Georgetown, Idaho.

Ted spent most of his adult life working in the mining industry. He was a highly skilled heavy equipment operator and could operate any and all types of heavy equipment. He was a leader in mining, and in the past, a production foreman, and was well respected by his peers. He was currently employed with N.A. Degerstrom on Soda Springs, Idaho.

Ted's greatest joy in life was getting together with friends and family for any type of excursion into the mountains. He especially loved camping, ATV-ing, chicken hunting, and pulling pranks. He was a long-time active and integral member of the Over the Hill Gang, a local ATV club.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Kathleen Smith, a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Gary Leissring, and a sister-in-law, Wendy Smith.

Ted is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Smith, a son, Jesse Price(Kendi), a grandchild, Jackson Price, a brother, Tim Smith (Carla Jo Wood), a sister, Becky Lowe (Gary Swa), and many nieces and nephews.

Ted, we love you and will forever miss you and your sometimes irreverent sense of humor, the smooth and the rough.

Cremation under the direction of Schwab-Matthews Mortuary. A memorial will be planned for a later date.
