Sheila Sharpe Matthews, 72, of Montpelier, Idaho passed away on September 7,2023. She was born in Montpelier, Idaho on August 14, 1951, to Grant P. Grandy and Barbara C. Grandy.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1973 and began her teaching career in Bear Lake Valley, Idaho. She obtained a master's degree from Idaho State University in 1990 which allowed her to fulfill her passion of teaching high school students in special education.

She married Bryan Sharpe June 6,1975. They had two children, Tiffany B. Schlesinger and Tennyson B. Sharpe. Bryan Shape passed away on June 25, 1978. She then remarried John R. Matthews on July 18, 2002. John and Sheila enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona.

Sheila is survived by her husband John R. Matthews, her children Tiffany B. Schlesinger, and Tennyson B Sharpe, also grandchildren Devon Sharpe, Trent Schlesinger, Bailee Sharpe, and Brylie Sharpe. Also survived by her siblings, Curtis Grandy (Diana), Paul Grandy (Brenda), David Grandy (Janet), Sherman Grandy (Kathy)and Norell Grandy, and many nieces and Nephews.

As per her wishes she was cremated, and no funeral services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
