Sarah Inez Rigby passed away on November 15, 2024, at the age of 90.

Sarah was born on April 19, 1934, in Potlatch, Idaho, to Harry and Inez Dailey. She was the youngest of seven children: Hilda, Anna, Chuck, Gordon, Dick, and Betty.

Raised in the beautiful Palouse Valley, she graduated from Palouse High School and went on to the University of Idaho, where she met her true love, Lee (Legrand) Rigby. They were married in Lewiston, Idaho, on June 18, 1955, and later in the Temple.

They moved back to the Pegram area where they operated a dairy ranch and raised three children: Shane L. Rigby (Melody), Bart H. Rigby, and Carmela Rigby.

Sarah continued her education and graduated from Utah State with a degree in education. She taught 7th grade in Bear Lake Valley for over 30 years, passionately sharing her knowledge of history. She loved to travel.

After Lee and Sarah sold the ranch, they built a home in St. George, UT. They traveled the world and had many great adventures together.

If you knew Sarah, you know she was a very giving person. She helped organize the volunteer EMTs in the 70s, and both Lee and Sarah served as EMTs for many years. She also contributed to theatre groups, producing plays, and always gave back to the community with her time or generous donations.

Sarah is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Rigby, and three grandchildren.

Her stories and great sense of humor always made it a pleasure to visit with her.

There will be a gathering for family and friends at Matthews Mortuary on November 20th at 10:30 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the Montpelier Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Sarah asked that donations be made to the Senior Citizen Center.
