Sandra Leavitt

Sandra Lynn Patterson Leavitt, 66, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Star valley Care Center in Afton. She was born Jan. 13, 1945 in Oakland, Alameda County, Cali. She was the third of four children born to George Patterson and Ona Frances Richardson Patterson.

Sandy graduated from high school in Alameda, Calif., and also from Beauty College as a licensed hair stylist. She worked as a hair stylist, assembly line worker, restaurant cook and taxi cab driver.

Sandy was a hard worker all her life, until she started to have some major health problems. Later in life, Sandy got her CDL and worked for several years doing long-haul trucking with her partner, John Walton, from Fontana, Calif.

Sandy met and Later married LaVar "Bubba" Leavitt.

They remodeled Bubbas trailer and enjoyed spending time together. They enjoyed camping up Greys River and also spent time traveling in the state, making several small trips to various VFW activities. This marriage ended in divorce.

As Sandy's health problems continued to get worse, she lived with her brother, Bob Patterson, at his home in Smoot. After she had her leg amputated, due to complications at with diabetes, she resided at the Star Valley Care Center.

Sandra is survived by her older brother, George W. Patterson, of Fairfield, Calif.; and younger brother, Michael L. Patterson of Afton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
