Sandra (Sam) Kaye (Frank) Neuman's Obituary

Sandra "Sam" Kaye Frank Neuman finished her earthly journey and moved on to her next on February 22, 2025. She was surrounded by family just the way she always liked to be. She was the pillar of strength to our family, a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. She will be missed by so many but we as a family find comfort knowing we will see her again.

Sam was born on October 28,1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to August F Frank "Gus" and Florence H Jolley. Before her youngest brother David was born, her dad would tell people he had 3 kids. 1 of each and a girl named "Sam", leaving her with the lifelong nick name of Sam. Mom grew up in a loving home with her older sister Susan, younger brother Gregory, and baby brother David. She remained very close to her siblings throughout the years. Always planning family get-togethers or taking us kids to last minute drives to "see the cousins". Even after us kids grew up, she still enjoyed and loved any chance she got with her siblings. Mom passed this onto us as each of us now cherish our siblings and families and continue some of the same traditions.

The Frank family moved where the work took them. Eventually ending up in Laketown, Utah where mom graduated from North Rich High in 1971. After graduation, mom met Karl Bartschi while roller skating at the Georgetown Elementary gym. They married in 1973 and made their home in Georgetown. To this union 5 children were born. Jennifer Denise was born in 1975, Nathan Karl in 1977, and Lisamay Marie in 1978. In 1980 the family of 5 was sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah temple. Mom knew there were more kids to add to the crazy bunch so in 1983 Karson Brett was born and then in 1985 Kaleena Kaye came along and completed the family. Mom was a very dedicated, loving and hard-working mother. While raising us kids she attended school and in 1994 she received her Registered Nurse degree. She was full of brains we use to tell her, as she would hardly crack a book, yet she seemed to master any class given to her. Nursing came so naturally to her, and she loved to share this gift. She spent many hours teaching others of all she knew. She truly loved helping others in so many ways. She was a book of knowledge, and it was a true blessing to be able to ask her anything and "mom always knew".

Sam and Karl later divorced but remained good friends all the way up to the end. Which meant us kids were blessed to still have our whole family together for holidays. Stepparents and all. Truly a HUGE blessing. Mom married Charles Michael Neuman (Mike) on May 24th, 2003. Mike not only got my mom but inherited a whole herd of us. He loved and accepted us as his own and he and mom took pride in helping with grandkids together. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho but later returned to the family home in Georgetown where they remained until moms passing. Together they enjoyed fishing, panning for gold, raising their beloved labradors, and even had peacocks that were quite the hoot. Mike stayed by moms' side throughout all her health issues. He was a loving and supportive spouse, and we are grateful. Mom was not only a hard worker at home she was in her career as well. She worked at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She made some great friendships there that she still cherishes. Just to name a few, Gary Griffin and Cristy Transtrum. She then moved on to work at Lost Rivers Medical Center in Arco, Idaho. She was the director of nurses, and she took that job on proudly. She of course made lifelong friends there too. She finished her nursing career at Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs, Idaho. There too making great friendships. One being Dr John Franson. Her health sadly declined, and she left the nursing career to spend more time with family.

She was the best cook. Growing up she would always find recipes and get excited for her next "experiment". When she cooked, she never measured. In fact, I don't think us siblings knew what a "real" measuring cup looked like. Mom just knew and somehow things always tasted just right. Never a bad meal at our house. After school we would often find 'No bake" cookies freshly made on the table or applesauce cookies in the fridge. When grandkids came along the cookie making doubled and happened more often.

She loved nothing more than being a grandma. Often teaching grandkids her 'experiments" and all her mastered recipes. She loved to swim. When we were growing up, she would find the craziest places to go swim. It was quite the adventure sometimes to say the least. We would tell her she was part fish as she could swim for hours and hours. She continued this even up until the last few years of life when she and one of her best friends, Sandy Bartschi, would travel to the hot pots in Lava Hot springs, Idaho. Life was always fun with mom. Whether we were raising ducks, taking on and feeding bum lambs, running her own t-shirt shop, making cotton candy at the fair, crazy adventures with her good friend Joan Glenn, helping dad with backhoe work, mom could do it all and she made childhood the best. When she became a grandma, the moments got even more special. You would often see mom holding a grand baby, big or small and singing "You are my sunshine'. Holidays were always over the top and she made sure there was crafts and activities galore for the grandkids. She always made the biggest effort to make our days special. I think every kid and grandkid has something mom crochet or made them. We will miss the 'OOOOOHHHH, AWWWW during the 4th of July fireworks, and the cookie making and crafts with the kids at Christmas. And especially your funny personality and tasty food! You will be so very missed mom!!!!!!!!!
