Robert Tom
Kropushek
May 17, 1942 – April 1, 2026
Schwab - Matthews Mortuary
10:00 - 11:30 am
Robert Tom Kropushek, age 83 of Georgetown, Idaho, was born May 17, 1942. A person with the driest sense of humor, Robert passed away on April 1, 2026, getting the last laugh…
He was a man defined by the quiet strength and resilience of his Slovenian roots. Dad was the epitome of a hard worker. Whether it be at Monsanto or at home, he met his challenges with stubborn determination.
While his "Slovenian stubbornness" was well known, it was the foundation of his resilience – a quality that saw him through 83 years of life's ups and downs with unwavering grit.
Outside of work, Dad was a lifelong sports enthusiast who rarely missed a game, instilling the same competitive spirit and love of play in his family. Dad loved nothing more than to beat his grandkids in a good game of cards. His booming voice will forever be heard in the stands cheering us on as we continue our journey.
Dad was a compassionate and caring man. As a dedicated police officer and diligent miner, he cared for his community by checking on his neighbors and this same passion for serving others has translated into his children, which is evident in Mike fighting for our country, Joe supplying power to the world and communities, David mining the world's resources, Elizabeth providing social services for students, Stephanie teaching students, Kristin administering healthcare to patients, and Cynthia providing nursing services to those in need. Marie Alaina passed away as an infant, but dad always carried her in his heart.
We hope that now they are together, with Dad chasing after Marie Alaina as they run and fish. Never far away from a bowl of Goulash or a Diet Coke, Dad was a stand-up man. He loved reading good questionable western's and having grand cookouts at Summit View, featuring hot dogs and s'mores. The songs from his carefully carved willow whistles, which he made by hand, will always sing with the Georgetown winds.
Robert is survived by his wife Elaine Bee Kropushek. His children Micheal (Kelle), Joseph (Julie), David (Moana), Elizabeth (Dean) Wallentine, Stephanie (Jesse) Birch, Kristin (Eric) Rasmussen, Cynthia (Marshall) Oswald. Dad left an amazing posterity of his 30 grandkids and 23 great grandkids. They are the bright future that will make our ancestors, who crossed the vast oceans, proud to have upheld the name of Kropushek.
We love you, dad, this double fist-pump is for you. You did well.
