Robert Sharon
Holbrook
April 14, 1936 – March 5, 2026
Robert Sharon Holbrook, age 89, passed away on March 5, 2026.
Robert was born April 14, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Vena Myrtle Larson Holbrook and Howard Robert Holbrook. He grew up in Bountiful, Utah, where from a young age he learned the value of hard work while helping run the family sporting goods store. Those early experiences shaped the strong work ethic and determination that guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Davis High School.
Robert served honorably in the Utah Air National Guard, where he built a respected career in logistics. He retired as a Master Sergeant on April 14, 1996. In addition to his military service, he owned and operated a successful business in asphalt products.
He married Junalyn Acosta Holbrook, whose love and companionship brought him great joy. He cherished traveling with her to her homeland of the Philippines and was always attentive to her happiness and well-being. Together they shared many years of laughter, companionship, and gentle teasing.
Robert loved the outdoors and treasured time spent hunting and fishing with his brothers, sharing stories, memories, and the deep bond of family. He enjoyed working on his farm, caring for horses, boating, and waterskiing. One of his lifelong dreams was to build a cabin home in the mountains—a dream he proudly fulfilled. He especially loved living near Bear Lake and valued the warmth and friendship of the local community.
Athletic and energetic throughout his life, Robert had a deep love for sports and staying active. One of his enduring passions was collecting Corvettes—both vintage and new—and he enjoyed driving his last Corvette until the age of 86.
Robert is survived by his wife, Junalyn Acosta Holbrook; his daughter, Lisa Black; and his son, Landes Holbrook (Debra). He is also survived by his brothers, Rockne Holbrook (Judy) and Kirk Holbrook (Shelley).
He was a proud grandfather to Nicole Black, Miquela Holbrook Cotto (Roberto), Skyler Holbrook, Jeremy Holbrook (Rebecca), Benjamin Holbrook, Samantha Holbrook, and Riley Holbrook.
A graveside service will be held at the Fish Haven, Idaho Cemetery at a later date.
Robert will be remembered for his hard work, his love of family, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
