Ricky Scott “Rick” Tueller, age 71, passed away on April 16, 2026, in a tragic car accident.
He was a resident of Montpelier, Idaho. Rick was born in Montpelier, Idaho, to Scott Junior Tueller and Alice Joy LaRocco Tueller. He was raised alongside his four sisters: Tana Simons, Janette (Bentson) Moss, Brenda Oliekan, and Cindy (Shawn) Porter. He moved to Bountiful, Utah at the age of 12, where he graduated from Viewmont High School in 1972 and later served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California.
In 1976, Rick married Bambi Hatch, and together they had four daughters, whom he loved and adored: Nicole Isakson (Kade and Colman), Loni Tueller (Kaya and Trip), Shalise Tueller (Zoey and Axel), and Amy Tueller (Taven and Makayla). Rick worked for Bountiful City before moving into construction and later real estate, where he owned and operated his own business for many years.
He later married the love of his life and best friend, Julie Ann Carriedo Tueller, in 2008. Through this marriage, he gained two sons whom he loved as his own: Saul F. Aguirre (Jacy Aguirre), with children Jentry, Bronx, and Nyx; and Andy Aguirre (Saranne Aguirre), with children Sawyer, Hanley, and Nolan.
Rick also started and sold his own food distribution company. He most recently worked for Culligan Water, where he took on numerous roles and remained hardworking up until his final days.
Rick had a deep love for the outdoors and a passion for adventure. He especially enjoyed fishing, boating, and hunting, with a special love for duck hunting alongside his dad. He passed his love of fishing down to his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories on the water. Rick also had a lifelong fascination with planes—he began flying shortly after graduating and eventually purchased his own plane, allowing him to enjoy the skies whenever he wanted. Whether working outside with his animals or exploring new places, his happiest moments were often spent outdoors, especially when shared with his beloved wife, Julie.
He will be remembered as a calm, laid-back man with a quick wit and a generous heart. He was always there to help at a moment’s notice. To know him was to love him.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Alice Tueller, and his sister, Tana Simons.
Please join us to celebrate a man who meant so much to so many and whose life is truly worth honoring. Rick had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. He lived with kindness, humor, and a genuine love for people, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A viewing will be held Thursday, April 23, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Schwab & Matthews Mortuary, 702 Clay St., Montpelier, Idaho. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 24 at 11:00 AM at Lewiston Cemetery, 1000 East Center St., Lewiston, Utah.
