Nancy Alice Hays, 70, of Montpelier, passed away Tuesday surrounded by her loving husband, family

and friends.

She was born June 9, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan to Arnold and Eileen Oehrlein. She became a Licensed

Practical Nurse in 1970 and enjoyed working with geriatric and home health care patients. She married

Stephen J Hays in 1971.

Nancy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Stephen J Hays, of Montpelier. She is survived by four

children: John (Tricia) Vose, of Hope Mills, NC; Eric (Annette) Hays of Uintah, UT; Camille Hays, of

Salmon, ID; and Tiffany (Timothy) McPherson, of Frederick, CO. She is also survived by nine

grandchildren and her sister, Sandra (John) Walter, of Montpelier, ID. She was preceded in death by her

parents, Arnold and Eileen Oehrlein, and son, Scott Vose.

Praying of the Rosary will be held on February 1, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Monday, February 2 at 9:00 am at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the funeral following at 11:00 am.
