Merrilyn Brown, age 97, of West Fork, Arkansas, passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 29, 2023.

She was born August 13, 1926, in Lehi, Utah. She was the daughter of the late Eldon Austin Brown and Flora Bell Steele.

Merrilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Brown, and her three brothers, John, Jerold, and Donald Brown.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a teenager, she loved playing basketball and was one of the original Provo Steelets basketball team members. She graduated from Provo Utah High School. She attended Brigham Young University for two years, majoring in business. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was an avid reader and loved getting books from her family.

Merrilyn and her late husband, Thomas Brown, were the parents of six children: Thomas W Brown (Maria), George E. Brown (Sandra), Richard G. Brown (Celeste), Sallie Klingenberg (Ken), Julie Sidebottom (Ron), and David Brown. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held – Burial will follow in the Montpelier, ID cemetery.
