Mary Earlene Peterson's Obituary

Mary Earlene Peterson, 88, of Montpelier, passed peacefully, with family by her side, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Bear Lake Memorial's Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier, Idaho.  Mary was born June 4, 1936 and lived in many different places throughout her life including the central valley of California, Kingston, OK, LaGrande, OR, and Montpelier, ID, Mary was married to her husband of 49 years, Harry Peterson, on June 6, 1957. Together they raised their three children, Ronald, Randy and Susan, and enjoyed their retirement years traveling in their RV, taking trike trips with their friends, and spending time with their grandkids. Harry passed away in May of 2006, just before their 49th wedding anniversary. After his passing, Mary chose to leave LaGrande and come to Bear Lake Valley to be closer to family.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry Peterson, her twin brother, Gene Ford of Georgetown, Idaho, her younger brother, Kenneth Armstrong, and her great granddaughter, Kadey Kunz. She was survived by her three children; Ronald (Elaine) Peterson, Randal Peterson, and Susan Moody; her 5 grandchildren, Ronda (Tyson) Lutz, Nichole Thornock, Brent (DaNae) Peterson, Daniel (Justin) Moody, and Sierra Peterson; and ten great grandchildren, Taryn VonSeggern, Greyson and Braxton Lutz, Emily, Dylan and Jordyn Thornock, Shylin, Korbyn and Kimberlyn Peterson, Jane and Chevelle Moody, and Hayley Bruce.   It was both Mary, and Harry's, wish to be cremated and have their ashes spread together. Neither wished to have any type of funeral or memorial service.  Mary's family would like to thank the staff at Bear Lake Memorial's Skilled Nursing Facility for providing such compassionate care to their mother and grandmother for the 7 years that she resided there.
