Larue Clark Beck's Obituary

LaRue Clark Beck died January 17, 2014, of causes incident to age. Born October 2, 1920, to Homer Keith Clark and Percie Tippetts Clark in Georgetown, Idaho, she was the oldest of 6 children. She attended school in Georgetown and Paris, Idaho where she excelled in home economics, thespian, and other activities. She graduated from Fielding High School in 1938 and was married to J. Worthy Beck in the Salt Lake Temple on June 14, 1939.

A lifelong resident of Bear Lake, she often worked side-by-side with her husband in the hayfield and spent countless hours caring for him in his reclining years. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in Ward and Stake leadership positions for over 40 years, including four years as a temple ordinance worker in the Logan Temple.

She is survived by her children, Michael Worthy (Susan) Beck, Merrill J. (Anthea) Beck, Darlene (Joe) Garlick, and Corey Homer (Marion) Beck, two sisters, Lorna C. Beck, and Gloria C. Thompson, both of Ogden, Utah and her only brother Boyd H. Clark of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She had 17 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at the Liberty Ward on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends may pay their respects prior to the funeral from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment will be at the Lanark Cemetery.
