Larry McKay Passey
Larry McKay Passey returned to his Heavenly Father on April 25th, 2017. He was born to McKay Passey and Bessie Eliza Nutt Passey on May 10, 1943. He was the oldest of five children. He enjoyed the country life with his family in Lanark, Idaho. He graduated from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho in 1961. There he was active in wrestling and FFA. After graduating high school, he was employed at the Budge Ranch in Nounan, Idaho as a ranch hand. Other employment included Central Farmers in Georgetown Canyon, Ogden Poultry Co. in Ogden Utah, and other short stints in the industrial business in Idaho and Wyoming.
He was married in June of 1964. To this union came three children; Troy (Dana), Eric (Mandy), and Tonia (Travis). Wanting the best for his family, Larry joined the Army Reserves in October 1964. Looking for permanent employment, he began working for Monsanto in 1968, where he worked for 32 years until his retirement.
In June of 1974, he married the love of his life Jackie Wallentine Passey and her five children; Shane (Tamra), Angela, Brooke (Doug), Sean (Melissa),and Jon (Melanie). After ten years, they welcomed two more children; Tyler, and Derrick (Sydney). This made a total of 10 children for this family.
Larry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many capacities, most recently the secretary in the Young-Men's presidency of the Paris Ward.
Larry had a love of the great out-doors, his horses and most of all, his family. He spent many hours traveling to sporting events, supporting his children and grand children.
Larry is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Mckay, and his brother Rayo. He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie, his mother Bessie, siblings DeLoy (Donna) Passey, Clarence (Vickie) Passey, DeAnn (Dale) Moeller, and Sandra Passey. He is also survived by his 10 children and their spouses, 33 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren with 6 more on the way. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 in the Paris Stake Center at 1:00 pm. A viewing will be prior to the services from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm. Interment will be in the Paris Cemetery.
