Larry Loveland's Obituary

Larry Loveland, 90, of Fish Haven, Idaho (Bear Lake), passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Fittingly, he left this world on Valentine's Day. While our hearts are heavy with his loss, we find immense comfort in knowing he has been reunited with the love of his life, Midge.

He was a devoted husband and father and will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering faith, integrity and love for his family. He taught all his children the value of hard work and lived his life by example. His laughter, sense of humor, whit, wisdom, were gifts to everyone who knew him.

Dad was well known for his green thumb and beautiful garden.  He loved sharing all the fruits of his labor with all his family and friends. An avid and loyal sports fan. He was a faithful supporter of the Utah Jazz throughout every season. His dedication extended to the LA Dodgers where he was also a lifelong fan.

Dad was born and raised in Fish Haven, Idaho. He served a mission in Minnesota for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. On June 3, 1960, he married Midge Riley in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple would reside in Evanston, Wyoming, during his employment with the Union Pacific Railroad. They would eventually move to West Valley City, Utah, where they lived until his retirement from Holiday Oil, when they were able to return home to Bear Lake.

He is survived by his children KaraLee (Dave) Gallagos, Michael (the late Teri) Loveland, Bruce (Natalie) Loveland, Becki (Kenneth) Hunt. His sisters, Narda (Jim) Wilcox, Lynette (the late Danny) Nelson; as well as eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Proceeded in death by his beloved wife Midge Riley Loveland, his son Brent (Jennifer) Loveland, brothers Nard and Beryl (Janis) Loveland, sister Shauna Lee, and his parents Don and June Loveland.

We invite all friends and family to join us as we lay him to rest in the place he loved so dearly. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Fish Haven Cemetery. An open house and Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00pm at the St. Charles Ward Building. Light refreshments will be served.
