Kory John Koeven died on October 12, 2024 in the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier, Idaho with his loving family by his side.
Kory was born on July 10, 1956 to Keith Lyons Koeven and JoAnn Sparks Koeven in Montpelier, Idaho.
Kory grew up in Dingle, Idaho and went to grade school there. He went to Junior High School in Paris, Idaho and Bear Lake High School in Montpelier, Idaho. He graduated from high school in May 1974. Kory then went on to ISU in Automobile Mechanics.
After he got home from ISU, he went to work at Tapper Motors as a mechanic for several years. The opportunity arose to apply at the United States Postal Service in Montpelier. He was hired as a letter carrier and worked there for many years. He was known as "The Mailman" in Montpelier all those years.
Kory was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He met Marsha Jones and they were married on August 5, 1989. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on October 19, 1995. Kory held the position of Stake Executive Secretary for many years. He also was Stake Technical Advisor.
Kory grew up in Dingle with his older brother, Eddie. They had lots of adventures and fun times together. He spent a lot of years hunting and fishing with his Dad and Eddie. Kory enjoyed camping and fishing with Marsha at Palisades Reservoir, and he liked computers.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha of Montpelier; his brother, Eddie (Paula) of Dingle; his mother-in-law, Nola Jones of Montpelier; and his brother-in-law, Chris (Lori) Jones of Hurricane, Utah; as well as his nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his baby sister, Wendy.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening on October 16, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 at Schwab Matthews Mortuary. The funeral will be held at the Montpelier 1st ward, Thursday, October 17 at 12:00 noon, with a viewing before-hand from 10:00 to 11:45. Burial will be in the Dingle Cemetery.
Funeral services will be live streamed at "Schwab Matthews Mortuary" on Facebook. The streaming will begin once the funeral has started.
