Kody Brent King’s earthly journey came to an end on May 23, 2026.
Born to Brent and Nicholle on July 17th 2001, Kody was so full of life and always had everyone around him laughing. He graduated from Bear Lake High School in 2020 and was known for his love of the outdoors and the people he cared about most. He especially loved fishing, hunting, and camping, and found peace and happiness spending time outside with family and friends. He volunteered many hours of service to Ski Patrol and loved spending the winter months snowboarding. The memories made around campfires, on fishing trips, and on top of the mountain will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Kody will be remembered for his generous spirit, strong work ethic, kindness, loyalty, and sense of humor. He had the best laugh. He was always willing to help others, give what he could, and show up for the people he loved without hesitation. Whether through his hard work, his willingness to lend a hand, or the way he made others feel cared for, Kody left a lasting impact on everyone around him. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his parents, Brent and Nicholle King; his siblings, Kayley King, Shayla Turnbow and her husband Dylan Turnbow, Joshua King and his wife Ellie King, and Corey Selner and her husband Michael Selner; his brother-in-law Kolby Ence and sister-in-law Whitney Ence; his beloved nieces, Reylan Turnbow, Clarke Turnbow, Taitum Turnbow, and Haven Ence; his nephews, Rhett Turnbow, Teigen Ence, and Griffin Ence; his second family Cameron Crane, Taryn Crane, Parker Crane and Eilonwy Crane; many cousins and his grandmothers, Colleen King and Cassandra Parker; and so many others that loved him and supported him when he needed it.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, LaVere King and Verlyn Parker.
Kody’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the love he gave so freely. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the memories they shared with him and the lasting imprint he leaves behind.
Funeral services will be held at the St. Charles Church House on Friday, May 29th at 12:00 pm. A viewing will be held at the Schwab-Mathews Mortuary Thursday May 28th from 6:00-8:00pm and at the St. Charles church house Friday May 29th from 10:00-11:45 am. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Kody’s life.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
