Kim V Titensor's Obituary

Kim V. Titensor

Kim V. Titensor passed away Oct. 21, 2011 of a massive heart attack, while hunting with his son on the south end of Star Valley.

Kim was born March 7, 1951 in Afton to Von S. and Hilda Titensor. He had an older sister sherry and a younger brother Hal. Growing up Kim loved playing cowboys and Indians, where he was always the Indian. During the Lincoln County Fair three different years, Kim won three gold dollars for being the best dressed cowboy.

He attended Kindergarten through 12th grade in Afton, where he graduated from Star Valley High School. He was also a three year graduate of the LDS Seminary.

Kim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was baptized April 27, 1959 by his dad. He received his Eagle Scout award when he was 13 years old with the tremendous help from his Uncle Ralph Titensor. Kim was ordained a High Priest by his brother in law, Darnell Bagley. He served in various callings from High Councilmen to teaching four and five years in primary with his wife Cindy, at the time of his death.

Kim served in the Wyoming National Guard, in the Afton and Cody Units, from Jan. 13, 1970 to Nov. 13, 1975. His responsibilities were soldier, truck driver and cook. At the time of discharge his rank was E-5 specialist with an honorable discharge.

Kim's parents owned and operated the Hiway Market in Afton. This is where Kim learned the importance of good customer service, respect for others and being responsible. When Kim was 16 one of his many responsibilities was to drive the grocery truck to Idaho Falls to pick up groceries for the store. In 1971 Kim moved to Cheyenne, to work for the Western Corral Stores. He lived a short time with his Aunt Lou and Uncle Elling Wright, which he appreciated for all of his life. During his first year of work Kim met fellow employee Cindy Bagley, also from Star Valley. During their courtship one of their favorite things to do together was going to barn dances. Together Kim and Cindy were assistant managers in Cheyenne an Billings Montana. They managed stores in Sheridan and Evanston. Kim and Cindy worked at the Corral Stores from 1971 to November 1983. After leaving the Corral West stores Kim and Cindy owned and operated the convenient store Country Crossroads in Woodruff, Utah. After selling their store in Woodruff in 1995, Kim was then employed with the Uinta County School District; where he was the supervisor of the custodial crew at Evanston High School at the time of his death.

Kim and Cindy were married Nov. 9, 1973 in Fairview. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Oct. 21, 1977. Kim and Cindy were blessed with four children. Mindi (August 1976), Holly (December 1978), Todd (November 1982), and Chet (January 1984).

Wherever Kim went he made friends, from his childhood in Star Valley, to his Corral West days, to the store in Woodruff and in his days in Evanston. Through the years Kim loved being around his many friends telling stories and joking with them.

Family was number one to Kim. When Kim was not working his time would be planned to be with his family. Miles did not matter to Kim. He was always there to support and cheer on his kids at their many sporting events. Kim loved to be with his five grandchildren. He took great pride in watching them grow and reach new milestones.

Whenever in Star Valley, Kim enjoyed having a Diet Coke with his Mom, teasing his sister Sherry and sharing hunting stories with his brother Hal.

Kim is survived by his wife and best friend Cindy (Bagley) of Evanston, children; Mindi (Brandon) Pulsipher of Paradise, Utah; Holly (Ryan) Thomas, Evanston; Todd (Melissa) Titensor, Richmond Utah; Chet (Shanelle) Titensor, Green Canyon, Idaho; grandchildren: Byrlie (9), TommyLynn (8),Breklyn (4,) Masen (1), and Wyatt (1).
