Keith Vernal Hymas's Obituary

Keith Vernal Hymas passed away April 1st 2018, at the University of Utah Hospital to return to his father in heaven. He passed peacefully in the company of his family, at the age of 85.

Keith was born March 19th, 1933, to his parents Reed and Katherine Hymas in Pocatello Idaho. At the age of two, his family moved to Liberty, Idaho where he was raised and worked on the family farm. After high school, Keith served in the United States Army for two years. He married Doris Teuscher March 23rd 1953, in the LDS Logan Temple. Together they had three sons, Neil, Corey and Troy. Keith enjoyed his time in the outdoors from the valley lakes to the highest mountain tops, fishing, camping, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Keith has worked at several local mines as a skilled heavy equipment operator. He transitioned his employment to a coal mine in Kemmerer, Wyoming in 1965, operating heavy equipment. He retired in 1995, to enjoy the things he loved to do. He enjoyed his membership and callings in the LDS Church, helping and associating with people. Among his many callings, he served as High Priest Group Leader, member of the Bishopric, and for the last 17 years as Stake Patriarch.

Keith is survived by his wife Doris Hymas, sons and daughters in law; Neil and Betty Hymas, Corey Hymas, Troy and Teresa Hymas, Sister; Beverly Barako, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Reed and Katherine Hymas, brothers; Ferris Hymas and Terry Hymas, Daughter in law; Nancy Hymas, Mother and father in law; Gertrude and John Teuscher, Brothers in law; Blaine Kunz and Lewis Teuscher.
