Julie Ann Francis Schmid, 75, of Bern Idaho passed away, Tuesday May 16, 2017 at the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility. Julie was born July 12, 1941 to Jim and Ida Francis in Ogden Utah. Julie graduated from Ben Lomond High school and later attended Weber State and Stevens- Henagar Business College.
Julie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel and the Savior. She served a regional mission in the Spanish Branch in Ogden, UT and later a full time mission to Northern California. She has enjoyed serving in many different callings throughout her life including working in the Young Women's Presidency, being a Stake Camp Director, working in the Relief Society and the Primary of the church.
Julie was employed in a canning factory during high school. After graduation, she worked for the IRS and later at Hill Air Force Base as a 10 key punch operator. She also worked as a Substitute teacher for the elementary school in Bear Lake and as a home health care CNA. Julie provided years of volunteer service in the PTA and to any and all clubs, sports or activities her children were involved in.
Julie's most precious life work, was her family. She loved her dear husband Ivins whom she married April 1, 1966 in the Logan LDS temple. She devoted her life to loving and raising their 6 children. Julie cherished her grandchildren and precious great grandson. She enjoyed spending time with them at every opportunity. Julie will forever be remembered for her life of love, devotion, hard work and sacrifice. Her constant smile and years of patience as she faithfully endured to the end.
Julie is survived by her children Doug (Stephanie) Schmid of Sandy, UT, Denise Schmid of Temple, TX, DeAnn (Roger) Stott of Blackfoot, ID, Debra Schmid and Dannette Schmid both of Bern ID, 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and her sister Kathy Lee. Julie was preceded in death by her Husband Ivins Talmage Schmid and her son Darren James Schmid. Her parents Jim and Ida Francis and her sister Connie Bowman. Although we are sad to see her go we know there is quite the happy reunion with her loved ones in Heaven.
The Family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Clay Campbell and the staff of the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility for their many years of compassionate care to our sweet mother.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 20th 2017 at 12pm in the Bern Ward LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:00 – 11:45 am. Interment will be in the Bern, Idaho Cemetery.
