Judy Ann
Skinner
April 1, 2026
Dingle LDS Ward
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Mountain time)
Judy was born on October 28, 1948, to Hazel Beesley and Darwin Champion. She was the second oldest of six girls, a role she carried with strength, love, and a natural sense of care for those around her.
In 1966, Judy married Wayne Skinner, and together they raised their four children—Michelle, Jeff, James, and Melissa—in Dingle, Idaho. Though they later divorced, the years they spent building their family remained an important part of her life. While she spent her later years in Utah, Bear Lake was always home in her heart.
Judy spent many years working for Maverik Country Store, including 18 years managing the Montpelier location. She took great pride in her work and created a welcoming environment for both employees and customers. She treated everyone like family, and her warm smile was a familiar and cherished part of many people’s daily routines. She had a gift for making places feel special, always going the extra mile to create beauty and belonging wherever she was.
She loved the Bear Lake Valley and its people, and one of her most memorable and playful acts was decorating a tree along Highway 30 with a collection of Maverik mugs—a surprise that brought smiles to many and perfectly reflected her fun-loving personality.
Judy was fiercely devoted to her family—a true “mama bear.” Her children always knew they were deeply loved and that she would stand up for them no matter what. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved a good joke, and was often the instigator behind many memorable pranks.
She made holidays magical, especially Christmas. The joy and warmth she created during that season will never be forgotten. Her Sunday chicken dinners were a cherished tradition—meals she seemed to prepare effortlessly, filling her home with comforting aromas and bringing her family together around the table.
Judy is survived by her four children: Michelle, Jeff (Lisa), James (Jamie), and Melissa (Travis) and her sisters Cheryl Bottom and Sandra Nuffer. 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Dean Beesley. Darwin and Faye Champion. Her three sisters, Nanci, LeeAnn, and Janet. Her beloved grandchildren, Hollie and Brandon.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dingle, Idaho LDS Church. A luncheon will follow, and all who knew and loved Judy are warmly invited to attend.
