Jack Corsi
My loving husband, Jack Oliver Corsi, passed away on Nov. 8, 2011 at the Star Valley Medical Center in Afton. He was born Nov. 16, 1923, the only son of Elmo and Annie Ames Corsi He had four sisters Ruth Jensen, Sybil Crook, June Astle and Etta Mae Robinson.
He graduated from Star Valley High School and went on to attend the Utah State University in Logan.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War 2and also during the Korean Conflict.
He was in Berlin and at the Remagan Bridge. He received two purple hearts for his efforts.
He came home and farmed for 40 years. During this time he also worked on the Palisades Dam Project, all the time building his farm into one of the biggest in Star Valley. He was the first farmer to install sprinkler systems on his farm.
Because of his love for big, fancy cars, he earned the nickname of Cadillac Jack.
In 1967 he was appointed to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission and served as vice president in 1969-1970 working closely with Gov. Hathaway.
He worked in Las Vegas 20 years as project manager for Nevada Rock and Sand.
He also worked for C&S Company. He was proud that he could work till the age of 85. He had strong work ethics and always did the best job possible.
In 2005 he was nominated to represent the senior workers of Wyoming in a conference held in Washington, D.C. He was rewarded an all expense trip to the capitol for his efforts.
Jack married Lydia Steglich May 8, 1999. He was previously married to Ruth Bruce, deceased, and Ann Robinson, divorced.
Children: Rayolda (Marvin) Park, Etna; Jack (Sharon) Corsi, Thayne. James (Lynnell) Corsi, Alpine; Todd (Audrey) Corsi, Jacksonville, Fla; Cindy (Carey) Delicate, Las Vegas; Ann (Erik) Hawkins, Phoenix . He has 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
At Jack's request there will be no services, as he was cremated. In place of flowers, make a donation in his name to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
