Helen Norma Hymas's Obituary

Helen Norma Hemmert Hymas, 92, of Montpelier, Idaho, passed away peacefully with family by her side Sunday, June 5, 2016. She was born March 5, 1924 in Paris, Idaho. She was the youngest child of ten children, to Peter N. and Rosa Egli Hemmert. Helen married Eugene Clyde Hymas April 15, 1942 and to that union came twelve children.

Helen was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was everything to her. She enjoyed family picnics/BBQs, playing card games, Yahtzee, Bingo and Bunko; but most of all just being with her family sitting around anyone's table.

Helen joined the love of her life after a courageous fight with cancer. She was loving, caring, understanding and hardworking, and will forever be loved and missed.

She is survived by her children, Helen Ann Ascona, Doris Fay Thornock (Ray), Ronald Clyde Hymas (Linda), Richard Mikael Hymas (Sandra), Janet Rose Eck, Kathy Jean Kies (Wayne), K. Scott Hymas, Blake Todd Hymas, Susan Lynn Hymas, Cindy Gay Otero (Omar); thirty-three grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Clyde Hymas; two sons, Eugene Robert Hymas and baby Weldon Hymas; her parents and siblings; two son-in-laws, Jean Ascona and Terry Eck and one granddaughter, Jill Eck.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the 5th Ward LDS Chapel, North Stake Center, beginning at 12:00 pm. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am-11:45 am, prior to the services.
