Emma Lyle
Boehme
May 18, 2017
She met Heber John Boehme in Logan and they were married on August 27, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple by Harold B. Lee. They lived for a short while in Geneva Idaho and then moved to their home in Raymond Idaho.
In 1973, they built their dream home and she loved every minute she could spend in her "new" home. Lyle spent her life working. She worked on the farm, supporting a workaholic husband. She served in various LDS church callings. Most importantly, she was a dedicated mother to her four children. Lyle also worked at many jobs throughout her life. As a child, she picked beans and she and her sister, Deloris, would sing as they worked.
She was employed by the Del Monte cannery and later as a secretary at the USAC library. During her married life, she worked for First Security Bank, the Jewel Cafe as a server, Sprouse Reitz as a clerk, and assembling and painting wood stoves. Her favorite job was driving school buses for twenty years. Lyle enjoyed getting acquainted with the children, especially the young ones. Lyle was a beautiful singer. She sang solos in church and at many funerals and musical productions. She was part of a singing group called Chord Busters. She enjoyed playing the piano. Many grandchildren took beginning piano from her. Her other great love is the out of doors. She often commented on how beautiful the Geneva valley is, especially in the Spring. She loved being in her yard and garden. Every year she planted and tended a huge garden. One of the hardest things in the last few years was the inability to work outside in her yard. She enjoyed traveling. Some highlights include trips to Hawaii, Europe and tours of LDS and USA historical sites and Yellowstone Park.
Lyle is survived by her children Rodney H. and Jeneane Boehme, Robert D. and Yvonne Boehme, Jacalyn B. and Harold Noyes, and Patrice Boehme and her significant other, Bart Ulm.
She has 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
