Mom lived a long and active life. She was a go getter and one of the strongest ladies we knew. She worked as a waitress until she was 74 years old. Waitressing is not an easy job but mom took great pride in serving her customers. Along with work she kept a spotless home. She loved being outdoors taking care of her lawn and flowers.
She was the Matriarch of our family and we respected her very much. She didn't have a problem giving us orders and expected us to comply and we did. Mom was one of the most generous people we knew. There was never a time in her life she didn't have someone staying with her. She liked having someone around to take care of and keep her company. Mom loved going up the canyons and hiking around and gathering wold flowers. She loved having family picnics and looked forward to them every summer where we could all be together. All of us children loved going to her home to visit her. She was very wise. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Mom was an active member of the LDS church and while living in Paris she accepted the calling to be the ward Librarian and served faithfully for several years. Elaine went through the Logan Temple where she received her endowments. Mom was true to her faith and had a strong testimony. She faithfully endured to the end.
Elaine is survived by four of her children Steve, Andrea, Gene, and Jeff. Sister Darlene Payne, Bloomington, Evan Haddock, Providence, Utah and June Hunter, Bennington. Elaine has 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, four of her children and one grandson Emmett Haddock.
Mom we love you with all our hearts and will miss you dearly
