Mr. Duncan Lowrie King, Jr. died peacefully (unexpectedly) at his home in Montpelier, ID at the age of 84.

Duncan is survived by nof his four children, Laurie Schanzenbach, Tamara King, Duncan Lowrie King, III, Maylynn West and 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Carol Adeline King, , his parents Duncan Lowrie King, Sr and Mary Linn Saeltzer King, his brother Robert Saeltzer King of Golden, CO. and his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Harry Howard King of Montpelier, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Saeltzer of Redding, CA.

Duncan was born on May 31, 1933 in Redding, CA to Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Lowrie King. He graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1951 and University of Utah with a degree in Mining Engineering in 1960. He was married to Carol Adaline Householder in 1956. After completing college, he began working for San Francisco Che3mical Company as a laborer then working his way to management serving as general manager. Over a period of nine years, the couple welcomed 4 children into their home. His children remember him as an institution in their lives instilling hard work, dedication, true friendship, sharp mindness, perseverance, passionate generous, driven, kind father who insisted to be their best and pursue their dreams.

Duncan was an accomplished mining operation manager serving in community and national endeavors including of the rotary club, country club president, church elder and president of the Idaho Mining Association. He is passionate, generous, witty, sharp-minded individual who loved designing mines (the current Simplot was the original San Francisco Chemical Company, creating a luxurious cabin and retreat for his friends and family.
