Donald Herbert Himmerich
December 8, 1938 – November 9, 2015
On November 9, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer, Don Himmerich, age 76, peacefully passed away at his home in Cokeville, WY, surrounded by his family.
Don was born December 8, 1938, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Philip and Christina Himmerich. He was the 9th of 11 children and grew up in Hannaford and Jamestown, North Dakota. From 1961 to 1964 he served honorably in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was the owner of a power line company and throughout the western United States you will see his legacy of power lines. He married Judy Walton in 1973. They made Cokeville their home where they raised their 5 children. He sold his company in 2000 and this allowed him 15 years to enjoy his children and grandchildren. He loved hunting, snowmobiling, NASCAR, the Utah Jazz, and pinochle but his true love in life was his grandchildren. He loved watching them do anything and just spending time with them whenever he could. His home was the favorite gathering place.
Don was always generous and willing to help whoever needed it. He was soft spoken, kind and always found the best in people. He was devoted to his church and family and was very proud of all his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Christina Himmerich, 4 brothers and 3 sisters and a granddaughter.
He is survived by his 5 children: Brandi and Ken Bell, Ricky and Kristi Himmerich, Ryan and Jamie Teichert, Camren and Trini Bowen, and Micah and Camille Himmerich.
He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, his sister, DeLila Everson, and two brothers; Edwin Himmerich and Larry Himmerich.
Don's funeral services were held on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the Cokeville LDS Church.
