Deloy C Sorenson's Obituary

On Sunday evening, 19 October 2014, DeLoy C Sorenson, 85, completed his journey on earth. DeLoy was born August 23, 1929 in Ovid, ID to William C and Delma J. Carlsen Sorenson. He attended grade school in Ovid Idaho and graduated from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho. DeLoy's siblings are Joyce, (Peggy) Benson, deceased, Dale W. Sorenson, deceased, and Bonnie Jean Nield of Montpelier, ID.
DeLoy served in the Army during the Korean conflict. After his honorable release from the service, he worked for the Railroad and also the telephone company in Salt Lake City, UT.
On the 24th of March 1956 he married LaRae Stevens in Ogden, UT. They are the parents of three daughters: Tara, Sherry Ellen, and Patricia. They were later divorced.
DeLoy worked at Central Farmers in Georgetown canyon. Then worked for the Monsanto company in Soda Springs for 25 years, retiring in 1989 as furnace foreman, lead man. He also farmed and raised cattle in Ovid and the Bern hills.
On December 30, 1980, DeLoy married Nadine Eborn Lutz of Paris. In addition to DeLoy's three daughters Nadine brought three children, Chad, Dana, and Jason. In 1984, another beautiful daughter, Jennifer, was born to this union.
DeLoy bought the white home in Paris in 1960 with the big pine trees where the children have happy memories stored.
DeLoy was elected to the COC and served as Community Committee Chairperson to the Farm Service Agency in 1997-1998.
DeLoy is survived by children; Tara (Jim) Parker of Ovid, ID, Sherry Ellen of Logan, UT, Patricia (Philip) Ward of Bloomington, ID, Jennifer (Tyrel) Phelps of Kimberly, ID, Chad & Tania Lutz, Dana & Jon Jacobsen, Jason & Amy Lutz, all of Paris, ID. 25 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, sister, Bonnie Nield, and loved nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, the 25th of October 2014 in the Paris LDS Chapel at noon. Friends may call prior to services from 10 to 11:45 a.m. At the church. There will be a night visitation on Friday, 24th of October from 6-8 pm. Interment will be in the Ovid cemetery.
