Dale David Parker's Obituary

Dale D. Parker, 88, passed away peacefully at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home, surrounded by family members, on Tuesday, April 7th, 2015.

He was born on June 2nd, 1926 in Lanark, Idaho, to Renald and Blanch Brown Parker. He was the second of four children.

Following High School, he was drafted into the Army and entered military service on August 25th, 1944. He served as a combat infantryman, throughout Europe, during World War II. While stationed in Belgium he met the love of his life, Jeannine Dutry. Eleven months later they were married in Brussels, Belgium, on July 24th, 1946. Upon return to the United States, Dale and Jeannine made Paris, Idaho their home.

Dale was a hard worker and dedicated to his labors. He held several jobs throughout his life, but none he loved more than his employment with Union Pacific Railroad, where he served for 36 years. He loved and appreciated the many fine people he was able to work with.

Dale was a lover of nature. He loved the mountains and the pines. He loved fishing, hunting and drives in the mountains. He and Jeannine loved snowmobiling, boating with their family and picking huckleberries. Dale loved music. He love to sing, dance, yodel and play his harmonica.

In 1990, following retirement, Dale and Jeannine built a winter home in sunny St. George, Utah, where they spent twenty wonderful winters. Summer months were spent in Paris, Idaho, where they enjoyed lifelong friends, gardening, chopping and gathering wood and raising raspberries. They were always glad to get back to the beautiful Bear Lake summers.

In 2010, Dale and Jeannine made the decision to move closer to family in Utah and built a home in West Haven. Dale took great pride in his family. He loved family gatherings, Sunday dinners and being out and about with Jeannine.

Dale is survived by his wife, Jeannine of 68 years, two daughters, Jeanette (Gary) Hymas of Preston, Idaho; Linda (the late Robert) Pugmire of Murray, Utah; Three Grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Eudell; two sisters, Ozella and Carmena; one grandson, Patrick and his son-in-law, Robert Pugmire.

Funeral services will be held April 11th at 1:00pm in the Paris Ward Building, located at 109 South Main Paris, Idaho. Prior to the services, a viewing will be held from 11:00am-12:40pm. Interment will be in the Paris Cemetery, with services under the direction of Schwab-Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier, Idaho.
