Clifford Hyrum Sommer's Obituary

Clifford Hyrum Sommer passed away January 12, 2015 at the age of 84. He was born October 8, 1930 in Hibbard, Idaho just outside Rexburg to Hyrum and Ethel Sommer. He was the first of six children. He married Jannis Birch August 5, 1955 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They raised 4 children, taught them to work hard, and taught them good values. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He belonged to the LDS church, where he happily served in many callings. He was a bricklayer by profession, which took him many places, he built beautiful buildings in many states and cities. One of which is a fireplace in the Old Faithful Inn dining room, where his name is written on a plaque on its chimney. He left a great legacyfor us all. He was proceeded in death by his wife Jannis, son Doran, and his mother and father Hyrum and Ethel. He left behind two sons, Devry (Gaylynn) Sommer of Montpelier, Nicklaus Sommer (Shawna), and daughter Sari (Bart) Rigby of Montpelier, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers Reed and Bert, and his sisters Carrol, Diane and Phyllis. Services were held at the4th ward chapel in Montpelier on Saturday January 17, 2015. Internment was at the Rexburg Cemetery where he was laid to rest with his wife Jannis. We will all miss him.
