Clara Fern

Clara Fern Marx was born on August 14, 1934 to Willy Arno and Hulda Mary Widmer Marx. She had four brothers; Clyde, Earl, Delbert, and her oldest brother Grant, who died as a child.
Clara went to school in Geneva until the 8th grade. She then stayed home with her brother Clyde and took care of Grandpa Marx until his death. Clara was one of the first residence of the Aspen Wood Apartments. She lived there for many years until she went to the Bear Lake Manor and eventually the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility.
Clara always gave a Christmas present. Crochet hangers and socks for all the great-nieces and great- nephews. One year she embroidered the names on towels for all the kids.
Clara worked as a house keeper for Valdi Lofthouse and then Ann Lane. She volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center for many years. She also helped Candy Dawes at the nursing home long before she went to live there.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Grant, Earl, and Clyde, sister-in-law's Merilyn and Evelyn, nephew Paul, nephew-in-law Ron Joslin, and great-nephew Daniel Wirth. Clara is survived by one brother Delbert Marx, six nieces and nephews; Jeff (Charlotte) Marx, Martha Joslin, Nancy Marx, Susan (Zane) Wirth, Jaci (Robby) Taylor, and Brian (Rachelle) Marx.
Services will be held Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Geneva Church at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery, following the services.
