Chris E. Christensen, 63, passed away suddenly at his home in Nounan, Idaho on October 31, 2016. He was born on August 22, 1953 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Edgar and LaVerne Christensen.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years at various mines and road construction sites in the region. Chris was very good at his job and took pride in being a dozer and blade hand. He was extremely proud of his daughter, Megan Sue, for following in his footsteps in the mining industry.
Chris enjoyed hunting, camping, driving through the mountains, shooting the breeze with his buddies, and target shooting. He especially enjoyed hunting bear and camping on the Salmon River. He enjoyed calling his wife, Marla, by the name of Marla Jean, to the point that everyone thought it was her real name.
Chris is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marla Sue, Nounan, Idaho; his daughters, Megan Sue, Georgetown, Idaho and Misty Dawn, Springfield, Missouri; his son, Joshua Chris, Springfield, Missouri; and one grandson, Damian, also of Springfield, Missouri. He is also survived by his sisters, Susan Ramey, Montpelier, Idaho and Wendy Christensen, Georgetown, Idaho and his brother, Lynn (Sherri) Christensen, Georgetown, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ann; his father and mother-in-law, Fay and Alice Ann (AJ) Jensen; and his nephew, Kolby Parker.
A viewing was held at Schwab – Matthews Mortuary on November 5, 2016 from 10:30 – 12:30. A graveside service and burial was held the same day at 1:00 at the Georgetown Cemetary. Viewing: Saturday November 05, 2016 10:30 AM Funeral: Saturday November 05, 2016 1:00 PMVisits: 0
