Carma Skinner's Obituary

Carma Skinner

Carma Skinner of Grover joined her lifetime partner, Wayne, on February 2, 2011. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Sandra Sherman. She was laid to rest in the grover cemetery on February 5, 2011. Carma was born May 7, 1920.

Her 90 years on this earth were filled with many changes. She spent the majority of her life in the service of her family. She raised five daughters, had many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and some great-great grandchildren.

Her Passion was her family, but she also loved beautiful plants and quilting. She made beautiful quilts for all her children.

She developed macular degeneration later in life but her last 10 years on this earth, after losing her lifetime partner, were spent in service of others. She spent her time cutting out quilt blocks to make into quilts. She made over 200quilts in those years, which she gave away to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends, along with those in need in homeless shelters, battered women, and children in need.

Her legacy was her life as she lived in simple, hardworking, caring and loving. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Hinkle, Carolyne Allen, Diane Winward, Sandra Sherman, and Shirley Finn. She is also survived by Sister Sharleen Booth, and brother Gary Leavitt.
