Bonnie Bateman Parr Sorensen's Obituary

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie (Bateman Parr) Sorensen formerly of Montpelier, Idaho. Bonnie passed away peacefully on Aug. 5, 2017 at the age of 82 surrounded by her family and shrouded in love.

Bonnie was born July 6, 1935. She was one of three sets of twins born to her parents. Her twin brother's name was Robert (Bobby) Bateman, born in Logan, Utah. She was number 9 of 11 children that would continue to remain tight knit and close throughout their entire lives.

On December 18, 1954, Bonnie married Calvin Coolidge Parr. The two of them with bundle of joy Nola Parr, continued to grow their family with the birth of a son three years later, Wade Calvin Parr in 1957, followed by the birth of Shawn Robert Parr in 1959 and Boyd W Parr in 1967. Bonnie also gave birth to a daughter Sandi Jean with husband Clyde Sorensen in 1975. Sandi was a surprise and blessing to the family.

She thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Women's Auxiliary. She devoted a lifetime of service crocheting and making a variety of crafts, which was donated to auctions and benefits for the VFW or given away to family and friends. Bonnie also enjoyed spending time with her 21 grandchildren. Some of her grandkids favorite memories were the fun sleep overs. With the high lights usually involving rolling change, learning how to count back money, doing crafts and watching her favorite shows. There are fond memories of her teaching those arts and tricks of gambling and playing cards. She had a unique bond with all her kids which involved dancing, fishing, crafts, horseshoes and having a good ole honkey tonkin time!

Bonnie is preceded in death by her Mother Pearl Annie (Albiston) Bateman, Father Leo Bateman, as well as her brothers; Rex Bateman, Arlo Bateman, Max Bateman, twin brother Robert (Bobby) Bateman and her slster5; Elaine Bateman, Jean (Sis) Bateman. She is also preceded in death by son Shawn Robert Parr.

Bonnie's legacy continues to live on through daughter Nola Parr, son Wade Parr, son Boyd (Melissa) Parr, and daughter Sandi Stockton. She is survived by ll grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three brothers Bud {Dean) Bateman, Dick (Richard) Bateman, and Denny (Dennis) Bateman, and a slew of cousins to share her stories of the way that she lived her life to the fullest!
