Betty Lou Tueller Sparks, beloved wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend peacefully passes away with family by her side. Betty was born September 14, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah the daughter of Lois Josephine Smith Tueller and Russell Albert Tueller. She grew up in Salt Lake until her family moved to Nevada where her father went to work on the Ellison Ranch. Her junior year in high school she lived with her aunt and uncle and went to school at Granite High. Her Senior year she returned to Nevada and graduated from Battle Mountain Nevada High School. Betty was always a hard worker. She worked as a waitress and many various jobs after graduation from high school. She lived in Nevada and Kamas, Utah where she worked as a waitress and upon moving to Montpelier she had the Jewell Cafe where she worked for a period of time. Betty then worked in several cafes both in Montpelier and Soda Springs, Idaho. She loved working on a ranch working horses and cattle. She also ran the haying equipment. There wasn't anything she couldn't or wouldn't do. She took employment with Bear Lake County Sheriff Larry Hardin as dispatcher and as an office deputy to assist the office deputy, Sharon Kunz. She then became the office deputy under Sheriff Daryl C Sparks. Betty married Daryl C Sparks on December 21, 1985 in Bountiful, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 4, 2008. Betty's favorite job was working on the ranch with her husband training horses, cattle drives, branding, and haying. She loved to get out her accordion and play and sing especially if they were ever feeling down and it would lift and brighten up the day. She is survived by her husband Daryl C Sparks, two sons, Neldon Kent Switzer (DeeAnn), Keldon Ray Julander and one daughter, Tanya Kaye Julander. Two step-sons, Vachell Dyrell Julander and Steven Daryl Sparks (Trecia), four step-daughters, Rayona Julander Butterfield (Willard), Terry Sparks Nate (Dennis), Lori Ann Sparks Hidalgo (Dean) and Debbie Jo Sparks Harrison, (Bill). They have 48 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren. One sister, Nancy Carolyn Harris(Gregory), and two brothers Ronald Harold Tueller (MaryLee) both from Salt Lake City, Utah and Donald Gerold Tueller (JoAnn) from Elko, Nevada and nieces and nephews, other relatives,and many friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, one son Raymond Russell Switzer, two step-daughters Alana Julander and Darla Kay Sparks Allred, four step-grandsons Ricky Daryl Nate,Thomas Rae Nate, Tyson Beau Allred, and Zeb McDougal and one step-granddaughter, Trina Kay Jensen. Funeral services took place at 12pm on Saturday, November 12 at the Dingle LDS Chapel. Relatives and friends visited with the family at a viewing on Friday, November 11 from 6-8pm and Saturday morning from 10-11:45am prior to the service. Interment took place in the Montpelier Cemetery. The Family expresses sincere thanks to the nurses, doctors of the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital for their kindness and loving care. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Dingle Ward Relief Society for the lovely luncheon prepared for our family.
