Bernice Ellen (Mills) Parslow's Obituary

Our loving wife and mother, Bernice Ellen Mills Parslow, passed away peacefully from this life on January 3, 2024, at the age of 80. She was the devoted wife of William Ray (Bill) Parslow and loving mother of 8 children: Bart, Barbara, Bob, Ben, Barry, Brian, Bethany, and Blaine. She proudly named her home "the B-Hive."

Bernice was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and determination. She was a woman of great faith, and instilled in her children the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. She worked in various jobs to help support the family, including working several years as a CNA at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. She volunteered many hours of service to her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and to the Bear Lake community, including spending many hours supporting the Bear Lake Hospital Auxiliary. Bernice was a source of inspiration to her family, and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Bernice was born the youngest daughter of Emerson M. and Florence E. (Hamaker) Mills on July 9th, 1943, in Brigham City, Utah. She grew up in Ogden, Utah. As a junior at Bonneville Hight School, she met Bill Parslow and then married him on August 9, 1960. They made their lifelong home together in Geneva, Idaho.

She is survived by her brother, LaMar (Sondra) Mills; her husband, Bill; 7 of her children: Barbara (Mark) Soelberg, Robert (Alana), Ben (Jackie), Barry (Sarah), Brian (Amy), Bethany (Kory) Child, Blaine (Holly); 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Edna and Joy; brothers John and Robert; and her son, Bart (Annette) Parslow.

Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the LDS Chapel in Geneva, Idaho. Family and friends may also gather for a viewing on Friday, January 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary in Montpelier, Idaho, and on Saturday, from 10:00 – 11:45 am, at the Geneva Ward Building.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the nurses and staff members at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility and to acknowledge the kind and vigilant care that Bernice received there. You all hold a special place in our hearts.
