Marcia Hidalgo Obituary

Marcia J Hidalgo, a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Ogden, Ut, at the spry age of 94.  She was surrounded by family.

Marcia was born to Asa Ray and Rebecca Johnson Jensen.  She was the seventh of ten children and attended school in Ovid, ID. for eight years and Paris, ID. for one.    Marcia was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was devoted in her faith.  She served as Sunday School Secretary, Counselor of the Relief Society, Secretary of the Relief Society, Church Historian and Ward Librarian.

Marcia married the love of her life, (Gerald) on November 22, 1947 after meeting him at a ballroom dance in Cokeville Wyo.  They moved to Raymond, ID. where they raised their three children.  They were married for 64 years.

Marcia had a full life and received much joy from her many experiences with her children and grandchildren.  Those experiences were most treasured in her life.  Camping trips each Labor Day (Dad’s Birthday), attending many dance recitals, ball games, and special school events will be remembered as some of the happiest times of her life.

After many years of working on the ranch, Dad and Mom became snowbirds going to Arizona for the winter months and truly made a lot of friends.  They did that for seven years, then bought a place in St George, UT and stayed there for four winters.  They sold that home February 1992 and decided to stay put at their home in Montpelier, Idaho.

Marcia is survived by her children:  Tamra (Ken) Rigby, Burley, ID; Susan (Craig) Fisher, West Weber, UT.; Dean (Lori) Hidalgo, Garland, UT; 17 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.  Sister-In-Law Dolores Johnson, and sister-in-law Neva Hidalgo.  Marcia is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and nine siblings.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018, 11 a.m. at the Montpelier 2nd Ward Church, 585 North 8th Street, Montpelier, ID.  Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, from 9;00 to 10:45 at the church.  Interment, Cokeville City Cemetery.

As a family, we extend our most heartfelt and sincere thanks to Intermountain Hospice.  A special thanks to Julie and the sweet CNA who cared for Mom.  Dr. Alan Abdulla and especially Dr. Brent Williams for his many hours of care and concern.
