Anita June Evans passed away August 19, 2018. She was the daughter of Herbert Ludwig Weigel and Laura Berniece Miner Weigel. She was born in Hiawatha, Kansas September 7, 1928. She moved to California when she was six years old and attended schools in Hollywood, Huntington Park and South Gate. She married her high school sweetheart David Edward Evans on January 28, 1945.
They had 4 children Penny Inez, Richard Eugene, Ronald Allen and John Owen. They lived in Whittier, California for 40 years then moved to Montpelier, Idaho in 1992. Anita moved to Cedar Hill, Utah shortly after her husband’s passing in 2013.
She is survived by her daughter Penny Schmidt (Peter), son Ronald Evans (Jennifer), son John Evans. Grandchildren James Bendtschneider, Matthew Bendtschneider, David Bendtschneider, Kimberly Cheshire, Jared Evans and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband David Edward Evans, brother Herbert Weigel, son Richard, grand-daughter Teresa, daughter-in-law Kathleen Evans.
Anita was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and served in the Young Women’s program for many years in California, as Relief Society President and in the Stake Relief Society in Montpelier, Idaho.
She will be greatly missed by her family.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 24th and funeral services at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, 3950 W. Cedar Hills, Utah 84062. A graveside service will be held at the Montpelier Cemetery Saturday, August 25th at 11:00 am.
